It is late in the day, in the Desert Land, and most pokemon are basking lazily in an amazing sunset. The sky has been lit up, in incredible hues of bright pink, a light red, with purple clouds accenting the colors beautifully. Suddenly, the silence is disrupted. A large, green dragon flies across the sunset, diagonal wings beating hard, with red rims around them. The dragon has a verdant crest on its head, and protected eyes, safe inside a sand-repelling red barrier. Small, clawed hands carry a pokemon, gentle, for a being so strong. The pokemon, shaped like a heart, and golden, squeaks in joy. The dragon waves its tail across the sun, a long shadow flitting across hot sands. Suddenly, it rolls over in midair, a figure visible on its back, and ready to leap off.
The figure, shadowed, mutteres something to the dragon, and it nods, landing next to a small house, with a small cactus garden in front of it. The house is small, with peeling paint, and weathered walls, but it looks cared-for, and well-kept. The smaller pokemon, in the dragon's arms, lets out another cry, and the trainer leaps off, barely visible in the shadow of the house. He looks up, and rummages around on his waist, grasping ahold of two red-and-white spheres, and presses circular buttons on them. Two red lasers shoot from them, transforming each pokemon into energy, and pulling them into the ball for safekeeping... The figure puts away the pokeballs, and fumbles with a small key, unlocking the door of the house. The door opens, and the figure crosses the threshold, and turns on a television, perched neatly on a small, shabby brown stool.
Famous Professor Sycamore was in the valley he discovered, dubbed "Sycamore's Valley" looking for archaelogical finds. However, when he fell through soft ground, into a pit, he found an ancient door, possibly made by ancient Pokelantians. Intrigued, Sycamore broke open the door with his Golem, to discover a horde of Unown!!! The pokemon were all carrying Heart Scales, and Sycamore estimated that there were about a thousand total. He equipted one friendly Unown with a tiny button-camera, and the pokemon all swarmed off.
Later, when entering his laboratory, he checked the wireless device, and saw that the Unown all flew above the Desert Land, and dropped Heart Scales to the ground. There have been numerous Heart Scales found, and Luvdisc, which covet the rare items, are increasingly common. Due to high winds, and extremely heavy rainfalls in the early routes, small ponds have been created, and lucky Luvdisc have been populating them.
The Heart Scales and Luvdisc are all extremely rare, and an event has been sponsored by the rulers of the Desert Land where people trade in the Heart Scales and Luvdisc they find for prizes. A new type of ball has been created, Heart Balls, which only can catch Luvdisc have been dropped all over the Desert Land by carrier Pidgey, and they are made for the event. Now for the rules of the so called, "Valentine's Day Contest"...
1. Luvdisc may only be caught in Heart Balls...
2. Luvdisc are not counted in a trainer's party unless they wish to keep the Luvdisc. They will instead be marked in the "Items" section.
3. All remaining Heart Balls you possess will be confiscated by the end of the contest.
4. If a booth, (they are scattered all over the region for this purpose), is broken into, and the prizes are stolen, severe prices will be paid.
