This is purely a fan made myth spin on the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender. I go into detail on the Creation myth first with the birth of the elements and the creation of the world and the Gods that protect it. This has nothing to do with the actual Avatar TV show, It does deal with the universe the show takes part in.
I will constantly be updating this as will I be writing it down on old fashion pen and paper. Lots of thought has gone into this, (Basing figures on actual myths from around mainly Asia as well as digging deeply into the Avatar universe and its secrets) but don't let that stop you from posting any comments, questions, concerns you may have.

The Creation Myth ---
In the begining, all that existed was Æu, a plane of existence high above the cosmos of space and the bottomless black abyss. It had only one inhabitant, Aia, an all powerful Goddess. Aia grew bored of her perfect world and grew lonely from being the only being in existence. Aia decided to create life that would embody her many powers equally, so she gave birth to four children. Ama was her first born, Ryo her second, Pai her third and Nugu her last. The strain of bringing life into the world was to much for Aia, so she fell into an eternal slumber. Aia's children took it upon themselves to govern all the universe and maintain order.
Ama took on the role of Fire and all the warmth it gave. Ryo took on the role of Air and the Northern, Western, Eastern, and Southern winds. Pai took on the role of Earth to create a world to live on. Nugu took on the role of Water and the life it restored. The four elemental beings walked to the edge of Æu and looked down upon the empty cosmos below. Pai gripped his fist and a large boulder appeared below them, this became Earth.
The four jumped from Æu and landed on the newly formed world. "This place is cold." complained Ama, so she created the sun to warm the planet and create endless day. "This world is dry." complained Nugu, so she created the vast oceans and fresh water rivers to drink from. "This place is boring." complaiend both Pai and Ryo, so Pai created the mountains while Ryo created the storms and the different wind currents. After 1,000 years the planet was finished. Trees had grown everywhere and were alive with many fruits, the mountains towered high into the clouds, the oceans roared and the sun shone light upon the world.
"This place needs life, a race that will worship us and embody part of us insider them." said Ryo. So the four ventured towards the riverbanks of a mystical lake and Nugu used her power over water to raise the mud on the shore into a block. Ama then used her power over fire to bake the block into stone. Pai then used his power over earth to carve the block into the likeness of a man. Ryo then used his power of air to breath life into the statues lungs. This was the first human, the Gods named the man Yi. Impressed by there work the Gods went on to create a woman named Ya.
Yi and Ya made a house for them to live in and the Gods protected them from any dangers that may unfold. Yi feel in love with Ya, but didn't know how to tell her about his feelings. So Yi went to the Gods and asked "Great Ones! I come to ask of a favor from you. I love Ya and wish to give her gifts to show her my love." The Gods all agreed to give Yi one gift that represented all the element. Ama reached up into the sky and broke off a piece of the sun, Pai dug into the earth and when he surfaced he held a large piece of gold, Nugu took water from a magical spring that gave ever lasting life. Ryo was handed all three items, he placed them into his palm and covered the materials with his other hand. Ryo took in a deep breath and then slowly blew into his hands. When he was done he opened his fist to reveal a golden egg. "In ten years that egg will hatch into new life, a symbol that will represent your love for one another." Ryo said as he handed the egg to Yi.
Yi told Ya of what he had done and gave Ya the gift. She accepted his hand in marriage and they had lots of children. Ten year later the egg began to crack open slowly. Yi, Ya, and there children watched in awe as a fiery golden bird stood in the remaining shell. Yi called the bird a Phoenix, it stood as a symbol for immortality and even when both Yi and Ya died there love would remain and be reborn anew. Over 100 years later the Phoenix still lived and even though Yi and Ya had both passed the bird stood as a reminder of the two lovers and guarded over there village of Mu Rong.
Mu Rong was growing rapidly and the citizens needed the Gods help with all sorts of tasks. The Gods decided that instead of helping the people by awnsering everyones prayers that they would create entities that embodied a different elemental power to assist them. Pai created Bagermoles to help reap and sow the land for farming, Ryo created the Skybison to help transport supplies and so that people could spread beyond the village and explore other parts of the world, Ama created the Dragons to protect all life, and Nugu created the Moon so the people could rest and the tides would raise and fall bringing with it schools of fish to eat. Ama originally created the sun to have endless day, so the creation of the moon angered Ama. Ama ordered the sun to forever chase the moon, thus creating the cycle of night and day.
