Name: Maxotaur
Type: Normal/Fighting
Cretian Bull Pokemon
Ability: Berserker
Berserker: When a Pokemon with the Berserker ability uses a damaging attack on the opponent, it becomes Confused after the attack and the Pokemon's Attack is raised by one level and its Speed is reduced by one level.
Evolves from Tauros when leveled while holding a Berserk Gene.
Maxotaur is the mythic evolution of Tauros. It is legendary in its status as a remorseless fighter and is extremely prone to berserk rampages. A Maxotaur is immensely violent and is difficult for even experienced trainers to control. It is written in ancient carvings and texts that on very rare occasion, a Maxotaur would descend from the mountains and wreak havoc on the human settlements below, using its brutally powerful body to tear down buildings. Due to the rarity of the legendary Berserk Gene that stimulates its evolution from the comparably calm Tauros, Maxotaur have faded from memory, though unproven rumors of attacks occasionaly surface in distant lands.
It is said that no Pokemon can match the intense fury of a frenzied Maxotaur, which, even under the command of a skilled trainer, may completely disobey orders and brutalize opponents. However, it is believed that Maxotaur lose most, if not all, logic and common sense when they enter what is known as their melee phase, the violent outbursts for which they are famous. In this state, they are at their most dangerous, but also at their most vulnerable. Self-sustained damage is common, and the chances of clever attacks overwhelming it substantially increase. It is also believed that an enraged Maxotaur will make no effort to dodge or defend itself from attacks, merely attempting to destroy the attack (or the opponant) directly. It takes months, if not years, of training for both Pokemon and trainer before they are capable of reliably working together, especially when it comes to battling. It is not known if a Maxotaur has ever been tamed, much less captured and reliably used for battling.
