Part One: The Beginning
~Chapter One: Captured!~
~Azereal~
I grinned. A human had entered my cave. My cave was small, and I was its queen. Of course there were Zubat, and a few Geodude, but nobody dared battle me, for I was too powerful. I was a hidden cave, one that I had found in the collapsed ruins of an ancient building, and I was the last ghost left.
The human looked determined, it had steely grey eyes, and wore a thin blue garment around his upper body, with holes for its large head, and its arms. Geodude - colored cloth covered two spindly legs, and it was looking at me. Red and white spheres were attached to a strip of.... meat? It smelled like Miltank, which lived outside my cave, but looked smooth, and brown. I dismissed the matter, as the human threw one of the spheres at me. I easily glided out of the way, and the ball richocheted off of the wall, bursting open, and in a flash of white light, a pokemon was revealed.
It was very long, and had brown and white stripes around its furry body. It had beady black eyes, and looked... sickeningly cute. <All right, another ghost to battle!> it cried, and twirled around in glee. I scowled. Stupid animal.
“Shadow Ball!” the human cried. I saw the pokemon begin to create a ball of ghost energy, tendrils of it twining together to form a ball, inside of the pokemon’s mouth. Suddenly, the “Shadow Ball” lurched toward me at an unbelievable speed. Shocked, I dived out of the way, narrowly missing the energy ball, which exploded on the cave wall. Dust filled the air.
I grinned. Try surviving this... Focusing ghost energy into the center bead in my necklace, I allowed it to build up, and then I released it. A blast of wind, charged with energy ripped into the pokemon, but after the dust from the attack cleared, Furret was grooming itself, unscathed. <You’re so stupid,> the pokemon taunted, giggling in a high voice, <Ghost energy won’t do a thing to me.>
Fury built inside of my bluish body. <How dare you...> I hissed, <How DARE you... Try seeing if THIS will do anything to you.>
My body boiling with red-hot fury, I gathered psychic energy, and released it in front of me, in thick waves, which bombarded the pokemon. It squealed, and tumbled backwards, cuts forming where the waves had hit it. I grinned. <Still so cocky?>
The pokemon jumped up, and, directed by the human, flew at me. I chuckled, as the pokemon passed right through me, and landed on a ledge on the wall. “Use Hidden Power!” the human yelled, a note of panic in his voice.
The pokemon opened its mouth, spitting out extremely shiny black orbs, which locked on to me. No matter where I moved, they followed, and finally caught me, circling incredibly fast around my body. Suddenly, they all slammed into me, feeling like daggers. As they faded away, I saw they had left no mark, but they still stung. Now backed into a corner, I felt trapped as the human threw out another shiny sphere, releasing a rocky creature, who looked familiar. <You... ...should... ...surrender... ...to just get it... ...over with.>
Suddenly I remembered. It was a Graveler. There used to be one in my cave, until it strangely disappeared. This one had a golden color to it, and seemed to sparkle.
The human threw out yet another ball, letting out a strange pokemon. It had glowing red eyes all around it, and was black. It spun around, and its eyes glowed brown. I went into my solid form - this pokemon might be trying to use an energy attack. I was wrong, as I saw the Graveler’s eyes light up. Suddenly, rock collapsed onto me, pinning my body down. I screamed. This was excruciating pain, it hurt so badly! I reverted to my normal, ethereal form, and glided out, my vision flickering.
A Shadow Ball flew past me, missing my head by about 5 inches. In terror, I flew through the ceiling, into a hidden chamber. I went back into solid form, and collapsed. I wasn’t too badly hurt, but I suspected I had fractured my skull. I wailed horribly, this felt horrible. Vomiting, I glided away. I heard sounds of attacks being thrown at the floor, and moaned. If I went outside, the light would feel uncomfortable, and I would be vulnerable to other pokemon. Very powerful pokemon lurked in the other rooms of the cave. I was trapped.
Several feet away, a white blast of pure energy punched a hole through the floor. I charged up a Shadow Ball, allowing the snakelike tendrils of my ghost energy to weave together. I didn’t have to wait very long. The many - eyed pokemon levitated through the hole, and goggled at me, as I fired. The resulting noise pleased me - a horrible shriek of pain. Moments later, I heard a crash. I glided down, through the hole, and grinned. The many - eyed pokemon was unconcious.
The first pokemon looked furious, reminding me of mmy own pain. I decided to get rid of some pain. I channeled my pain into my necklace, and sighed in happiness as my pain left momentarily. It was an amazing feeling. All wounds healed. The stress of mind, of body, of spirit... It all lifted, and I watched as the blood - red energy split, half of it painfully returning to my body, as old wounds split open, leaking blood, but i felt better. The other half of my pain was absorbed into the long - bodied pokemon, opening new wounds. It screamed, in it’s native tongue. “FURRET!”
I grinned. So it’s a Furret... Suddenly, a rock bashed my head, and I felt my body cry out inn pain. Blood surged out of several wounds, my head hurt, and I felt a thorough ache all around my wispy body. <...I... ...hurt... ...you...> the Graveler said, it’s mental capacity obviously low. I slowly turned around, focusing my bloodshot eyes at it, cackling. <You are about to feel true pain...>
Launching waves of psychic energy at the Graveler, I played on its weak mind by sending waves cutting into the Graveler’s rocky skin, trying to overwhelm it with pain. It worked well. The rocky golden creature lay down, moaning.
I turned around, getting hit by... something... straight in the face. While I was stunned, something small and hard struck me, and I knew no more.

Suddenly,I was able to think again, instead of feeling a blank sensation. My wounds healed, and I felt amazingly refeshed, all in a few minutes. “Thank you, please come again.” said a female human voice, and then I made a discovery. I could hear, but I couldn’t move.
I heard footsteps, and then the sound of an angry human voice. “Hey, runt! You must be a trainer! I challenge you to a battle, punk!”
“Alright.” said the same human voice that belonged to the trainer I had battled. Suddenly, I felt cold. I had been captured. I never had the chance to think anything more, as I felt an unpleasently warm breeze. I felt my cells rearrange themselves, a... strange... feeling. Once they stopped moving, I felt the uncomfortable feeling of sunlight. I spun around, and looked up at the human. “Hi.” he said simply. “My name’s Jimmy. Is it okay if I call you Spirit?”
I shrugged, slightly suprised that I could understand him perfectly... Usually when humans spoke, they sounded strange...
“Okay, now Spirit, you are a Misdreavus. Do you know that’s the name of your species?”
I scowled. <Duh... What, did you think I thought I was a Zubat?>
Jimmy shrugged. “I don’t know what you’re saying, but would you like to battle with my team?”
I shrugged again, and he smiled. “Good. Would you like to battle this guy later? I know you’re not trained yet, but you’re really strong.”
I grinned. <No problem.>
“I’ll battle you in, say, five minuutes.” Jimmy said to the person who I had heard earlier. “Whatever...” the person growled.
Jimmy threw all of his pokeballs into the air, and out popped five pokemon: the long - bodied pokemon, a pokemon with a white garment and red horns, and green hair, the Graveler, the many - eyed pokemon, and a orange mouse with brown stripes, and a long tail.
<Hiya!> the mouse said, <I guess you’re new. My name’s really Baasderon, but Jimmy calls me Volt. I’m a Raichu. You can call me either name, Baasderon, or Volt. I like them both. Which one’s better? Volt’s sorta cool, huh? I’m an electric pokemon. I’m from Kanto, I used to live in the Power->
<You talk too much, Baasderon.> remarked the pokemon with green hair, <My name’s Figero, and I’ve talked Jimmy into letting me keep that name. Here’s something to remember, I’m a BOY. Jimmy always says I’m a girl, so don’t believe him. He never can remember what I say. Oh, and are you a boy or a girl? If you’re a boy, I’m sure you can relate to me.>
<I’m a girl, and I used to be Azereal, but I guess I’m Spirit now. I’m a Misdreavus.> I said, uncertain of what to do.
<Oh.> said Figro, sounding slightly disappointed. <I thought...>
<Me... ...Granite....> the Graveler remarked, holding out a hand. I nodded, and he withdrew his hand.
<Er... Hello.> said the long-bodied pokemon, <I’m Desaal, a Furret. If I was you, I’d stay out of the way of Srygon. He’s Jimmy’s original pokemon, a Vibrava, and Figro’s told Jimmy that Srygon bullies the newcomers, so he’s going to let you meet him later.>
<You’re... not mad about how much I hurt you?> I said, suprised.
<Not really. I helped Jimmy catch Granite, and I fractured my skull, broke five ribs, three of my legs, and my tailbone.> Desaal said, eyes misting. <He’s a shiny pokemon, you know. Regular Graveler are so brainless you can barely understand them.>
<I know. I knew one. He was dull, even by Graveler standards.>
<Hello.> said a low, humming voice. <My name is Feseer. I’m the Claydol that helped battle you. That attack of yours really hurt.>
I turned around, and saw the many-eyed pokemon. <I’m sorry.> I said, <I just HAD to beat you guys up.> It was a lie, but I needed to act tough.
Feseer looked annoyed, but replied. <Jimmy’s very nice. you’ll like him.>, and hovered away.
I felt slightly mad. Stupid humans, I thought, why do they have to ruin our world? And why is that many-eyed freak so weird?
I thought I saw Faseer stop, and his eyes facing me blinked reproachfully, but he continued on, so I might have imagined it. I shrugged. Life was tough.
My thinking was interrupted by Jimmy calling, “Hey, come here! It’s time to battle!”
***
I watched Volt battle what Jimmy had called, a Sandslash. It was yellow, with a white belly, and sharp claws. It’s most noticable feature, however, were the long brown spikes that covered it’s back. It looked like a physical attacker, and so I was fairly sure I could beat it. for now, I wanted to see how Jimmy treated his pokemon.
~Volt~
I bristled, as the Sandslash stepped toward me. In battle, I was serious, and not the hyper Raichu I knew everybody thought I was. “Volt, use Tail Slash!” I heard Jimmy yell. I grinned.
Tail Slash was my special move I had created with Jimmy. I saw why he wanted me to use it. The Sandslash’s back was armored, but it’s stomach wasn’t. I began the attack.
First, I began speeding at the yellow pangolin, who tried to curl up in time to counter the attack. At my high speed, I drove the end of my tail into the Sandslash’s belly. For a moment, it stood there, shocked, looking at the tail sticking into it’s stomach. Then, it screamed, a high - pitched, horrible sound. I yanked my tail out, and the Sandslash moaned.
Not wasting any time, it curled up into a spiky ball, and hurtled toward me, rolling incredibly fast. I jumped, but a long, protruding spike tripped me, as Sandslash passed under me, cutting my foot as it did so. I braced myself, and fell onto the ground, wincing. Rolling over, I looked up just in time to see the Sandslash falling down, claws extended, and aiming at my throat. I rolled out of the way, and sprang to my feet, as Sandslash drove it’s claws into the ground instead. Realizing it’s mistake, it curled up into a ball, so that I couldn’t harm it as it pulled it’s sharp claws out of the ground.
I circled it, waiting for it to attack, and attack it did, flipping into the air, and stabbing me in the gut with a claw. It grinned, and raised a claw to strike a final blow. I braced for the impact, but the blow never came.
I looked up, wondering what had happened. And there stood Figro, eyes glowing blue. <You... YOU FIEND!!!! HOW DARE YOU TRY TO MURDER MY TEAMMATES !!!!! HOW DARE YOU!!!! DIE!!!!!!!> He howled, his anger growing. <I.... WILL WIPE YOU OFF THE FACE OF THIS PLANET!!!!>
He raised his arms, and thousands of green, glowing leaves appeared all over, tearing at the Sandslash. “RETURN!” shrieked it’s trainer who recalled it. “I choose you, Mightyena! The pokeball he threw burst open, revealing a black and gray wolflike animal, who ran at Figro. I frowned. Pulling myself up, I summoned electrical energy into my tail, heating it up. Static flew from it, as I slapped it against Mightyena’s face. It yelped, and turned toward me. It drooled in anticipation, and flung itself at me, but I just grinned, as I built up electricity in my cheek pouches. At point-blank range, I released the Thunderbolt, electrocuting the wolf.
Spirit glided into the battle, and grinned at the Mightyena’s smoking body. <That thing’s unconcious.> she announced.
I laughed. <Yeah! 2 - hit KO!!!>
<Aren’t you forgetting something?> asked Figro pointedly.
<Nope!> I said, laughing. Figro would have to try WAY harder to get an apology out of me!
