Baltoy bursts forth from his Pokeball and wobbles by your side.
Suddenly Baltoy is hit by a Tackle from a very angry looking Geodude!

Baltoy whips it's arms in a wild circle, flinging sand into the air, blasting the lvl.7 Geodude with a mini sandstorm. the Geodude uses the sand as an opertunity to use Rock Polish, raising it's speed. Baltoy focuses and lets loose a wave of psychic energy at Geodude, who tries to get out of the way but is hit a glancing blow and sent spinning off to one side.

Poliwag lets loose a beam of high density bubbles at the Geodude, who uses Defense Curl. The small rock pokemon is blasted backward, but gets up. It seems to be extremely angry...

The Geodude grabs a rock from the ground and throws it with all it's might at Poliwag. The small tadpole pokemon has already begun it's hypnosis attack, and is concentrating too much to completely avoid the incoming rock and it hit for minimal damage. The Hypnosis attack is successful, lifting the Geodude's battle rage. It looks around in confusion for a second, and Poliwag leaps in, firing the stream of bubbles directly into the rock pokemon's face. Geodude crumples to the ground, severely weakened.

(derp derp moment there ;D )
Poliwag fires another blast of bubbles. The Geodude is thrown back and slides to a stop. moisture from the bubbles drips from it's rock and dirt encrusted hide. It is very clearly knocked out.
LVL up for Poliwag! --------- Up ahead, the road narrows and is enclosed on both sides by high rock walls. these walls slope up from your current position. You have two options: climb up either wall and continue from there, or follow the road.

"Go Onix!" I carefully jump along Onix's tall body to reach top of the walls easier.

You scramble up Onix's back and are greeted by a sweeping plain. Well, not actually a plain, the desert. From your vantage point on the rise, you can see huge sandstorms blowing across the center of the sandy expanse. Now you realize why people call this place the Desert Lands: it is not just a desert, it's just too epic in scale to be just that...
Off to your right, a small flock of Spearow land and begin scavenging the remains of something.

I carefully creep to the Spearow, not the startle them and peer and what what they are surrounding...

You succeed in creeping up on the flock of Spearow. the object they are surrounding looks like it has been sitting out in the desert for a long time...
It appears to be the husk of a dead Geodude, dropped from a considerable height. The Spearow must have dropped it like Wingull often do at the sea shore with unsuspecting Shellder. The flock is picking out the fleshy insides.

"Okay then, this desert is quite the brutal area, we better get going... Hmm Onix? Are you offended by these Spearow? Well no choice then, I wouldn't want to get in your way! Onix Rollout on the Spearow then! Avenge your rock-based relative!"
