Nidoran emerges and leaps, hind-feet first, into Teddiursa, catching it off guard and sending it sprawling! The attack, stronger than usual thanks to its multiple uses of Close Combat and the type weakness, seem to have done serious damage to it. As Nidoran squares off against the heavily damaged normal type, Charmander leaps in and snaps its jaws at Teddiursa, missing by inches before leaping out of the way of a Scratch. Koffing, you suddenly realize, is beginning to glow a whitish yellow, its eyes clenched shut as it hovers slowly towards the three other battlers... Teddiursa: 2/24 -sandragon13

Charmander and Nidoran dive behind a large boulder, as Teddiursa glances over and realizes just how much trouble it's in. Charmander scrambles out of cover just long enough to fire a single drop of molten Ember into Koffing's open mouth...
The next few moments fail to register in your mind. You come to, your eyes readjusting to the light. The battlefield is charred, rocks blackened with soot. Through the dusty air, you spot your two pokemon, huddled together behind the boulder, covered in soot, but relatively unharmed. To the far side, the other trainer's pokemon lie still, KO'd by the blast. You hear a coughing sound from the far side of the field, through the dust. A pair of twin crimson lasers fire through the viel, striking the two fainted battlers and absorbing them. A shadow stumbles toward you...It's the other trainer. "I was wrong about you, trainer. You have earned my respect. Here are your Pokeballs, as I promised. I have some more train..." Suddenly, you hear a rushing sound, as if by a strong wind, yet you feel no wind on your face. A large shadow rockets through the air above your head, tearing through the clouded air at high speed. You and the other trainer both duck sharply, and watch as the form dives low over you, keeping its speed as it ascends up and out of sight. The dust that swirls around you pulses away from you and the other trainer, as if forced by wind. You manage to catch a glimpse of the object as it escapes into the sky...a green, streamlined dragon with diagonnal wings. Wasn't th..was there a figure on its back? You and the trainer jump to your feet and try to spot the form as it fades into the distance, but it's already long gone. You continue to watch the sky for a few more moments, seeing nothing. The other trainer reaches into his pack and hands you a Pokeball and a Great Ball. "I know what I have to do... I hope to run into you again..." he says to you, as if his mind is focused on something else. Saying nothing more he walks back down the path, down the way you came. -sandragon13

"That figure, I've seen him before." Jake said, staring down the now empty path where the figure and trainer had went down. "The vision during Halloween, the Parties at Christmas and New Years. But, who is he...?" His mind crashed back down to earth as he shook his head, recalling his Poke'mon. "I will find out who or what you are." He turned to survay the area, looking for any sign of a way down the route.

You peer forward, spotting a small hole, big enough for a trainer to squeeze inside... It's a tiny tunnel...

"Alright, let's see. Small hole I can crawl into, no idea what's inside of the hole. Could be a trap, could be a way out of here. Only one way to find out." Jake said, bringing out Torchic. "Alright Torchic, be ready." Jake took in a deep breath, held it for a second, then screamed at the top of his lungs into the hole.

Nothing happens, but an echo resounds inside, taking a long time to stop. Could there be a cave?

"Right, better safe than sorry. Torchic, lead the way. I'm right behind you."

Torchic looks at you, and when it slides down the hole, you follow, and finally stop moving when you enter the cave, and a Zubat lv. 7 flies into you...

"Wahh, a Zubat! Torchic, use Growl then try a Scratch attack!"

Growl is effective, Zubat wincing from the harsh noise. However, Scratch misses, due to Torchic not being able to reach the bat.

"Dang, wish you were taller Torchic. Keep Growling at it, once it get's close enough to strike use Scratch on the inside of it's mouth."

Torchic growls fiercely, and Zubat flinches again. Zubat comes close, biut Torchic spins around, slashes the mouth of the bat, and KOs it. The defeated Zubat drops a Heart Scale...

"Good job Torchic, you took him down like it was...wait a sec, what's this?" Jake walked over to the Heart Scale and picked it up. He flipped it over in his hands several times, scratching his head. "Never seen something like this before...huh?" His Pokenav went off in his back pocket. "This thing never works after it fell into the water. Why now?" Jake watched as the story behind the Heart Scales unfolded before his eyes. Then, just as soon as the signal was there, it was lost. "So very strange...but still, these Heart Scales could be worth something. Better get to looking!" He said, bringing out all his Poke'mon. He held out the Heart Scale for all to see. "Alright guys, we're looking for anything that looks like this, or a special kind of Poke'ball. If you find either one, give a yell. Also, if you run into any problems, run right back here."

Your pokemon head off in all directions, looking for the mysterious scales. After a bit, your Zigzagoon returns, a Heart Scale in its teeth! I guess that would be his Pickup ability at work! You turn, sensing a presence behind you, and see Nidoran smiling. You look behind it, and realize that you are staring at a very, very angry-looking lv. 55 Rhydon. The Drill pokemon has a rainbow-flecked scale atop its head, but it's pretty clear that it has other things on its mind. -sandragon13
