Perhaps the big city isn't the best place...might I suggest the route beyond the city's borders? You'd surely find some Pokemon to battle out there... -sandragon13

You walk into the Gym, which is just across the square from the Pokemon Center, and find it housed within a skyscraper. The receptionist at the desk checks your badges, then leads you to an elevator. Eleven floors up, the shiny metal doors part and reveal a vast room with a high ceiling, the back wall made up of plate-glass windows overlooking the city beyond. The center of the floor is a full-scale, packed-earth battleground, dotted with clusters of small rocks. Sitting on a bench by the side of the battlefield is a young male trainer with disheveled hair, reading a magazine. The ding of the elevator door draws his attention, and he hurridly stands up and greets you. "Welcome, trainer, to the Devon City Gym! Colin's the name, and battlin' is the game! If you're here for a gym challenge, you'll have to defeat me first." He takes his place at the far end of the battlefield, drawing a pokeball from his belt. "I'm not going to go easy on you!" he shouts, "Go, Sandshrew!" With that, a lv. 13 Sandshrew emerges, swiping at the air with its claws. -sandragon13

Sandshrew kicks up a blast of Sand-Attack and easily dissapates the attack. "You'll have to try harder than that if you want to get past my Sandshrew!" shouts Colin with a wide grin. -sandragon13

Treecko uses Dragonbreath, and as before, Sandshrew dispells it with Sand-Attack. As Treeko starts to collect energy for Solarbeam, Sandshrew tunnels underground. -sandragon13

Solarbeam is fired, but Sandshrew bursts from the ground behind Treeko a split-second before, leaping high in the air with its claw held high! -sandragon13
