You make a dash, and leap over the Geodude. You've escaped successfully!
But what now? the path is still shourded in swirling sand. you continue forward, when suddenly, you walk out into a large field of broken and sand sculpted bedrock. across the plain, between blasts of sand, you can see a towering sandstone gate, the entrance to Route 3!
But you must cross the field of bedrock first... on further inspection, you find a path that winds around the field of rock, but most of it is obscured by blowing sand.
Will you head straight across, or make your way around?

You strike out for the far off gate, hurrying as fast as you can. You notice a small, rounded shape half burried in the sand... what could it be? An item dropped by some other unfortunate trainer?
Will you check the object out, or keep going?

As you reach out for the object, it suddenly whips around and around, throwing sand everywhere! when the burst clears, you see a lvl 5 Baltoy balancing on the sand, wahtching you with lazy looking eyes.
Will you fight, try to comunicate, or move on?

I sat down beside the Baltoy and watched it the same way for a little while...

The Baltoy still watches you for a while, it's small squinty eyes glowing slightly. I finally makes up it's mind, and floats higher into the air, revolving slowely as it does. It lookd back at you and waves one of it's flat, spade-like arms at you. It seems as though it wants to lead you across the plain.
Will you accept?

You continue further, and you come across a lvl 3 Geodude, basking int eh blasts of sand. It notices you and your guide, and raises it's tiny fists, growling. The Baltoy swivels to face you, and puts up it's hands in a "put'em up!" geasture. it looks like it wants to fight, and for you to direct it.
Will you accept?

(What Level is the Baltoy?) Alright then Baltoy, spin around Geodude quickly to cover Geodude in sand obscuring its sight. Then if it charges at you tilt your body slightly for a make-shift sand-attack! Go!

(lvl 5)
The Baltoy revolves faster and faster, it's Rapid Spin attack coming in handy for this move. It dips down into the sand and blasts the small Geodude with sand, covering it. The Geodude swats the sand away, and charges forward with a Tackle. The Baltoy tilts down to meet it, and the sand sprayed up blinds the Geodude, who misses and is clipped by the Baltoy's spinning attack.

Okay Baltoy, back up a bit then use confusion to lift the Geodude off the ground. Then stiffen your self and then spin into the falling Geodude! Go.

Baltoy's confusion damages the Geodude further as it lifts it into the air, and the Rapid Spin attack it recieves as it falls KOs it!
The Baltoy decends down toward you and glows a faint pink. it seems as though it is impressed by your knowledge of battle tactics and creativness. It taps the empty pokeball on your belt. it seems as though it wants to join your team, so that it may battle under your deraction again.
do you accept?

(Updated. would you like to name the Baltoy?)
Baltoy nods and floats off, spinning slowely as he moves. The clay doll pokemon is heading in the direction of several large rocks to your left... perhaps he knows a quicker way to the gate.
You and your now fully filled out team head through the sandstorm, occasionally stumbling over hidden rocks and the like. You finally reach the rocks, and you can now see why your Baltoy has lead you here: there is a dune to your right formed by the blowing sand, and it's bulk shoots the sand up and over one side. on the other side of the dune, the one you are staring at, is a path free of blowing sand. It's a clear shot straight to the entrance to Route 3!
Just as you are about to head down this path to freedom, a figure jumps from the top of the rocks, and lands in a crouch on the path in front of you. the figure stands up, revealing a woman who can't be older than 22. She's wearing black baggy pants and a matching top, with a cammo utility belt filled with pokeballs. A cammo baseball cap covers her sandy blond hair, and an even more sandy brown cloak flaps around her ankles. She pulls a pokeball from her belt, and grins
"Sorry champ," she says, "But I can't let you pass, not just yet. You've just gone and found the one clear shot outta this place, and that takes either a clever mind or an uncommon amount of dumb luck. I'm here to see which, and make sure I don't let no losers into Route 3." She tosses the pokeball, and a lvl 8 Cancea appears beside her.
"Have at'em, boy!", she cries, and the Cancea redies itself for battle...
