Weavile bursts an Ice Beam down the hole, Sandshrew was to slow to dig down deep enough or even an angle and gets hit hard due to weakness.
Sandshrew: 10/40

Sandshrew erupts from the ground directly beneath Weavile, scoring a critical hit due in the suprise attack! It also manages to interrupt the Ice Beam before it was fired. Now both Pokemon are heading into the air! Weavile: 26/52 -sandragon13

Weavile slings a Shadow Ball at the Ground-type, sending it flying out of the air and into a rock, KO'd! The trainer returns Sandshrew and applauds your efforts. "Yeah, you did alright, I guess," admits Abby, a sheepish smile on her face. "Gym Leader Andrew's up those stairs, and he'll fight you whenever you're ready." She motions up the stone staircase behind her, then returns to the rock she was sitting on before, watching you. Will you face the gym leader now? -sandragon13

(yeah, I'll do that now) You and your pokemon ascend the stairs and past the stone barrier wall. At the far end of the battlefield, a young man of about 20 watches as you approach. "I watched your battle just now, trainer, and I must say I'm impressed. It's been a while since I've faced a trainer of your skill level. However, you need to defeat me in order to win this badge, so let's get started, shall we?" With that, Andrew sends out his first pokemon, a lv. 9 Cacnea. -sandragon13

Cacnea just sits there as Ice Beam is fired, but before the attack strikes, it vanishes into thin air! As you wonder where it went, Cacnea reappears on the other side of the battlefield, safely out of the way of the attack. -sandragon13

Again, the attack is fired, and again, Cacnea somehow teleports to safety! What is Cacnea doing to evade your attacks, and what can you do to stop it? -sandragon13

Weavile tries, but the two high-energy attacks distract it! Ice Beam is fired, but Shadow Ball fades out before it fully charges. Cacnea was trying a Pin Missle, but Ice Beam stops the attack cold, pardon the pun. -sandragon13

A second Ice Beam is fired, but Cacnea barely is able to deflect some of it with Pin Missle. Cacnea: 30/36 -sandragon13
